Watch Out Where the Shepherds Go

Three legged hero Wyatt Ray Dawg discovers the joys of playing in powdery white stuff.

Winter WyattSomeone pinch me and tell me I’m having a doggy dream. I woke up today and thought “oh good, time for a walk.” I figured we’d do the usual morning run up the  hill.

But then Dad opened the door, and wooooaaaaah!

The dirt was gone. There was this white powder everywhere! I stepped in it and it was cold, and wet, and blowing all over me!

I played in it, I peed in it, I ate it (not in that order!), and had so much fun in it.

But what exactly is this stuff? And how come I shouldn’t eat it if it’s yellow?

  1. Have fun Wyatt! Romeo LOVES the snow. He is a native Vermonter after all! You are a lucky guy!

(Romeo was born in January. And so he thought when you have to go–you go in the snow. When he was a puppy he got very distressed as the snow melted (of course in Vermont that’s May….), frantically searching for elusive spots of leftover snow, finally we convinced him you can poop on grass too….

  2. I heard from my cousin in Monument that she had snow today too! Wyatt you must have had so much fun!! Paris recovered from her amputation in about 20 inches….just plodded through!!
Have fun Wyatt, tell your Dad to make snowballs and throw them to you!

  3. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be a new amputee in the snow. I mean where IS that ground?

What a crazy thing to wake up and see the dirt was all gone and there was this white stuff all over the place. I loved it! Spun around in circles and ran like a maddog.

Romeo, I’m glad you figured out that it’s OK to poo on the grass! Oh by the way, we LOVE Vermont. Mom and Dad couldn’t decide whether to move to VT or CO. It was close.

  4. Hey Wyatt, I had snow just a few weeks after my amp. So I got really good about hopping in the ice and snow. Snow tastes great, and peeing in it is so fun! Just wait til you get the really deep stuff, it’s a blast!

  5. Nova, you always amazed us with how you got around in all that snow. I can’t wait to see how much we get up here. You’ll have to teach me about getting around in it, it looks tricky.
