Who Needs a Babysitter?

Three legged dog Wyatt Ray goes to Doggy Day Care in Fort Collins CO.

Ever since I got to Colorado with my new pack, we’ve been inseperable. In fact, there’s probably only been one time when we were apart more than two hours!

Finally, my pawrents gave me some real alone time, but not at home. . . at a doggy day care!

They went to some all-day bike ride thing, and since they don’t have a trailer for me (yet!), I couldn’t come along.

What’s up with that? I thought dogs were welcome everywhere in town? Mom and Dad didn’t want to leave me at home because we live an hour from anywhere, so it was off to the babysitter for me.

I was not pleased. I mean, I am waaaaay too big for that kind of thing.

Before I could go to the sitter, Mom and Dad took me to the vet for a squirt of water up my nose and a checkup. NOT cool.

I thought this babysitting thing was going to suck, but guess what? I had a blast! The sitter was a big place where I got to hang out in a comfy room of my very own (no kennels for big dawgs!), and crash a big dawg pawty too.

I was there for eight whole hours. Mom says she was nervous and kept wondering if I would try to eat a Shitzhu again or hurt myself.

When my humans finally picked me up that night, I showed them that no amount of time at a pet hotel could wear me out, no way.

I left the place barking my head off, doing my best Arnold impawsonation, shouting

“I’llllll beeeeeee baaaaaack!”

  1. Chloe does NOT like the bordatella up the nose. She will not cooperate even with 2 strong men holding her, so we always have to do the shot. The vet said that some dogs think they are drowning…

    Glad he had fun!

  2. Wow Wyatt. Sounds like you had a great time! I think that sitter place might be nicer than my people’s house 🙂

  3. LOL. Well done, Wyatt!! You got the last words in when you left and you had energy to spare!

Riley wants you to know he appreciates your dismay about the squirt-up-your-nose thing he and Catie had to get before they went to the boarder. He definitely did NOT like it either. He shook his head like a madman. Catie’s too stoic to make a spectacle of herself like he does.

Glad you had a good time!

  4. You were admitted and attended a daycare, young Wyatt?? And you made it through the entire day without any ears or legs being amputated?

UNBELIEVABLE (at least if we believe everything your pawrents to tell us about you).

(p.s. I’m with you on that squirt up the nose thing. That was the worst. I’d go for the shot anytime.)

  5. Sounds like you had a blast there.

But next time I would push for a spa experience as well as the romping and sleeping. Massage, hydro pool, manicure (manly dog kind of course) the works. Hey did they give you any treats? I would most surely insist on treats.
Glad you had fun, maybe even more than some silly old bike ride!

  6. You mean dogs can choose between a SHOT and a squirt up the nose? A needle in the butt instead of a little water? What kind of weird dawg would choose THAT? A dog that likes tattoos?

Yeah JDsmom, I had waaaay more fun than my pawrents. Hah! Little did they know I’d be pawtying harder than they did.

  7. Wyatt –
I’m glad you had fun AFTER you’re stupid vet visit that is!! So you didn’t eat any little dogs!?!? WTH?? Little dogs are sooooooooo annoying…I have many cousins that are little and they drive me banana’s! I try to ignore them but for some reason they like me!

So glad you had fun at daycare! Sounds like maybe you’ll go again?

  8. I’m glad you liked daycare, Wyatt. Indi has never been and I have a feeling she would mope in the corner all day, but who knows. Maybe she would love it. If she ever goes, we’ll keep you posted.

  9. Chloe does not choose the shot, she chooses not to cooperate for the up the nose stuff because she goes into major freak out mode when they first try to. For her it is the lesser of two evils…

Chloe had her first doggie day care day on Friday and she was a really happy pup! It is a place where she plays with other dogs her size all day. She too has a lot of energy afterward, so we still have to go on walks afterward.

  10. Oh so glad her daycare went well! It’s like Disneyland for dawgs, isn’t it? Most of us love it there. Keep up the great work Mom!
