The Tripawds Leg-a-cy Continues!

Way To Go Wyatt

Giving Thanks on Pie Day

November 25th, 2016 · 21 Comments · My Diet

Hoppy Thanksgiving everypawdy! I hope you had as much fun as I did. My people cooked all day yesterday. Then their friends came over yesterday and I got very excited when I smelled all the yummy food. Like, stuff I NEVER see in our doghouse on wheels, starting with Turkey! Dude, I wanted to eat everything but I guess nobody heard my stomach growling.

Tripawd, German Shepherd, Thanksgiving, pie

Dude, did you not hear my stomach growling yesterday?

Mom and Dad and their friends put me inside the doghouse on wheels while THEY went to eat all the good stuff. Can you believe that? I mean, why didn’t they invite ME?

When they were outside, I smelled something good. Mom must have thought that little baby gate was going to keep me away from it I guess. But when I put my giant schnoz to work and saw they forgot to take the pies over to the dining tent, I figured I’d help them out a little. After all, no humans need to eat that much, right?

Mom makes really good pies!

So I moved the pies from their hiding place and guess what I did? Yep. I. Ate. The. Pies. Yes, that’s “Pie” with a “S”. Oh my dawg dude, the pecan and pumpkin pies Mom made were to DIE FOR.

And when my people came inside to get the rest of the food and saw that I ate the pies, they almost killed me!

I even cleaned up all the crumbs!

Luckily, I didn’t die. I’m feeling a little woozy today but after everything I’ve eaten (like a road flare and shorts, for starters), my stomach is coated with iron. Nothing can take me down! Not even two Thanksgiving pies.

Even after I helped them with dinner, I didn’t get ANY of that turkey. Aren’t they so mean?

    OMG 😮Wyatt ,
I bet you have a belly ache today! 2 pies lol;)
Not so funny for Mom! No wonder you didn’t get any turkey!😉

  • dobemom

Ha ha Wyatt, you showed them! How dare they not include you in the festivities….at least you didn’t eat the aluminum pie tins. Trust me, eventually they will laugh about this.

OH Wyatt. I am so glad you just ate the pies and not the pie tins. But I bet your momma wasn’t very happy. Snickers, Bosch and Jazz had a little turkey.

Which was your favorite – pumpkin or pecan?

    OOOOOMMMMMDDDD!! LMAAAAAAAAO!!!
Best real laugh we’ve had around here in a loooong time!!

Good for you Wyatt!!! The nerve of your humans to try and keep you away from their feast!! You showed them!

You realize you are the hero of all heroes to Frankie and Merry Myrtle now! Actually to dogs and kitties everywhere!!

Yeah, you didn’t get any turkey, but take solace in the fact that they didn’t get any pies!!!! Hmmm…two pies or a piece of turkey…yep, the pies win!!

Still laughing over here Wyatt!! Thank you!!!

  • wyattraydawg

Haha thanks Sally, you sure made my parents laugh so I guess they’re not as mad as they were. I’m glad Merry Myrtle and Frankie like my stunt, but I hope they don’t try the same thing. My belly still hurts!

  • wyattraydawg

Well if I had to choose, the pecan tasted better but the pumpkin is probably what kept my butt from exploding, so the pumpkin wins!

  • wyattraydawg

Haha that’s what my mom’s friend said. I did eat the foil they were wrapped in, it didn’t taste all that good. Turkey tastes better 🙁

  • wyattraydawg

Right? You’re a lady who understands Paula. xoxo

  • wyattraydawg

Muh belleh still hurts! But it’s getting better.

  • mom2shelby

OMG!!!!! Jasper Lily is totally envious and Angel Shelby is applauding you (as that is totally something she would have done). Hope your belly starts to feel better soon!!!

    XOXO

Oh my dawg. You need to write a book! That was an pawsome read!

    Wyatt Wyatt Wyatt
I was giving my girls a hard time for eating a quarter pound of pecans a few weeks ago and then eating half a quiche recently. But you take the cake! Or, ummm, ,pie! You better behave yourself buddy.

Isa was equally jealous when she first heard of this escapade! But I reminded her of the severity of the tummy ache that accompanies such shenanigans. I recall her consumption of roughly four pounds of ribs, bones and all, in roughly ten minutes and without making a sound.
I am sorry, Wyatt, that no turkey could be spared for you. But you got yours back!

  • hannah

OMG…This is the funniest story we have heard in a long long time…what on earth was your maw and paw thinking leaving the pies within reach of you my handsome husdawg??? I bet they don’t do that again anytime soon! Thanks again for the laugh…

  • wyattraydawg

Well you know, I’ll give my people props. They did their best to hide it in a place they thought I couldn’t get to. They should know, never underestimate a German Shepherd, right?!

  • wyattraydawg

Woooaaaah Isa! I’m glad you survived that experience. I’d love to give that a try some day….if only my humans ate meat!

  • wyattraydawg

Haha they were sending me psychic messages, didn’t you know?

  • wyattraydawg

Well thanks Deb, I might do that!

And this is why I always ask, “Is there a dog in your car?” when customers purchase whole pies To Go. Dogs LOVE pie!
