One of These Things is Not Like the Other

Tripawd Wyatt ends up in a cone again at the dogtor but this time it’s not his fault he says.

Seems I can’t go a whole year without ending up in the cone of shame. “It’s always somethin” my maw says. Only this time, it wasn’t my fault, I swear!

And I asked myself, “How did I get there?”

Last week I woke up feeling bad. I dunno, something made my stomach upset. Before I knew it, last night’s dinner came back up. Only before it landed on the floor, I inhaled it. “Eeew!” I know you’re thinking. But hey I’m a dog, it’s what we do.

Problem is those tasty left overs went down my windpipe. Then I got a fever (104!). And then it was the hospital for me.

“Inhalation new-moan-ya” they call it.

They called it new-moan-ya. Whatever it was, now it’s hard to breathe. And I’m not real hungry. But they let me go home and I’m trying hard to feel good again. I’ll be back soon when I feel good enough to tell you more.

  1. Oh no Wyatt! You should always let the food hit the floor first. 5 second rule, anything on the floor 5 seconds or less is fair game. that new-moan-ya is tough stuff, you don’t wanna mess with it! I sure hope you feel better really soon. Big hugs to all of you.

  2. OH no. I am so sorry to hear you aren’t feeling good Wyatt. Get feeling better buddy.

  3. Oh poor Wyatt! new-moan-ya isn’t fun! Hope each day you’re feeling better and better! When our spokesdawg is down we’re all down! Feel better soon!!

  4. Wyatt! Please be a little slower to eat when that good stuff is flyin’ around the kitchen. Using the 5 second rule is pretty good advice. You don’t look as handsome in the cone of shame as you do without it. Get better soon buddy. Jerry Lee told me to tell you to behave yourself too!

  5. Thanks for all the get well wishes, you kids crack me up!

Your pawsitivity is being felt in my dog house and guess what? I’m almost feeling like myself again! Oh yeah. Barking at intruders, snarfing down food (Mom thinks I still need to be on boiled chicken, so it’s hard NOT to snarf!), and feeling more alert than I have in days.

Doc says one more x-ray on Sunday to make sure I’m getting better. But either way I have to take SO MANY pills for a while. Newmoanya is a scary thing, don’t get it!

  6. So many pills, so many treats needed to take the pills, lol… so glad you are on the mend! Now don’t snarf TOO fast buddy.. or you’ll be heading back to time out..
    Hugs!

  7. Oh Wyatt Ray of Sunshine! You have definitely been under the weather hey buddy?! Stewie is so hoppy to hear that you are feeling sooo much better! As Linda said…. when your down, we’re all down! And that’s the truth!
Try not to scarrfff your food, remember no talking while your eating! I know your trying to tell Mum & Dad that your food is soooo good as your snarrrfining your food down, but you can tell them after okay?!
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you Pal, glad you didn’t have Pie-a-then issues this year! Turkey and sweet potatoes are much tastier anyway. Honest!
Thanks for the tip on PawFriction. We will definitely get some of that for Stewie. And also thanks for alerting g us to this form of Newmoanya! I had never heard of it before! Thank goodness Stewie doesn’t try to talk while eating!
Cuddles to you handsome fella! Again, very glad to hear that you are on the mend! Hugs to your Pawrents and tell them good job for being on top of your needs! Love ya!
    Petra and Stewie. X

  8. Dear Petra and Stewie,
Wyatt Ray is too busy getting back to the business of patrolling for the pack right now, so he wanted us to let you know how much he appreciates your concern. He is doing much better and in fact today got the “A-OK” from the Dogtor, who says his lungs sound great and the Newmoanya is now gone. YAY!

We always try to tell him not to talk with his mouth full and are hoping it will stick this time. Thank you so much for your love and concern!
