Well, you probably heard the news by now . . . I have a new home!
Thanks to my awesome foster family, Codie Rae, Smokey, Martha and Ralph, I am now living in the mountains of Colorado. No more being tied to a rope in a crummy backyard, no more mean people who ignore me all day, no more city life for me. Green acres, here I come.
Or rather, “Jerry’s Acres,” here I am!
My new pawrents, Jim and Rene, are the two big Tripawd lovers who run a website for three legged dogs just like me. Since their furbaby Jerry passed away last year, they’ve really missed having dog love around (hah, you think they miss the dog hair too?). When they heard that I was in need of a forever home, they drove 1500 miles just to meet me. There I was, scrappy, skinny and just a few weeks after amputation, but they really seemed to think I was something special. That night at dinner with my pack, they signed some papers and made it official: we are now a family!
I’m so hoppy to be here with them on Jerry’s land. I’ve never smelled so many cool things. Stuff like pine trees and flowers. Oh and sage, lots of sage. And today I even got to bark at my first deer! It’s all so much fun here. I get all worn out by the end of the day, there’s so much to check out. I’m going to leave my mark all over the place!
The best part is, I get to travel in the RV with my new pawrents. Apparently they are going to take their other house out for a few months each year, to show people how awesome three legged dogs like me really are! I’m so excited I get to see the country just like my hero Jerry did. Next week, we are going back to the ranch where they worked last year. I can’t wait to go!
Whew, that’s it for now. I need to build up my strength so I can run around these crazy mountains some more!
Welcome home pup! you seem like a pretty good boy so far. Keep up the good work. You’ve got big paws to fill.
Welcome home, Wyatt! You are gonna love life in the mountains, and have a lifetime of awesome experiences ahead of you, thanks to your awesome pawrents. You lucky dog, you!

Totally awesome. I am so very happy for you guys. A new forever home, a new mascot, it just all fell in place for you.
I know somewhere in my future is another tripawd. I’ve learned so much and met so many fine pawrents, how could I not help another one out.
WooHoo! I am unleashed! I thought I was going to explode keeping quiet about this! Wyatt, you were such a GREAT boy toy—I sure miss bossing you around! But I am soooooooo happy for you in your new home on Jerry’s Acres I can’t even stand it!
You lucky dawg you–you escaped the ‘hood! Jim’s right–you have big paws to fill…so you better shape up and buckle down to it buddy! Don’t make me come out there now! You keep that Jim and Rene in line, OK? Just remember, if you are not a good dawg they are going to send you back to East Oakland….. ๐

Oh you guys, I feel the LOVE all the way over here! Thanks for all of the good wishes. Yes, it’s really different where I am now, but it’s soooo much fun. Of course, not as much fun as running amok with my pals Smokey and Codie Rae!
Yep, I’ll be at the Tripawds pawty on Sunday, all revved up and ready to pawty!!!!
Welcome home Wyatt! Don’t worry about filling any pawboots, you are your own doggy and will surely be famous in your own way.

Chuy & Mommy Eleanor
@tikaani But of course… Wyatt will be making his big debut at the first Tripawds Pawty!
Such a beautiful boy!! Congrats to you guys and bless you for rescuing this handsome fella from tha “hood”. He does have big paws to fill but with pawrents like Rene and Jim, there are no doubts he will fulfill his destiny as another great Tripawd ambassador as his brother Jerry did before him. I’m so happy for you guys!!
Hugs to all!!

I’m in agreement with Shanna – my next dog will probably be a Tripawd. We have learned so much these past couple months from something that we never ever expected, but they have been fabulous months. The caring and generosity we get from others has really been an eye opener, and I plan on holding off on another dog until we find the perfect little Tripawd who just wants someone to love it. If y’all ever drive your “other home” to the midwest, let us know!!!
