Wasn’t I a Very Good Dawg? What’s Up Santa?

Wyatt opens Christmas presents and gets the surprise of his Tripawd life when he’s done.

Santa, I thought I was a very good dawg. After all, you did come to see me, and I got to open cool presents on Christmas Day.

My favorite kind of presents . . . edible ones! Those Wild Earth meatless treats are da-bomb.

Opening presents is hard work but I’ve got it under control.

I was all worn out, and thought I was done with the unwrapping.

When suddenly, this happened.

Wyatt's New Wheels
What the heck Santa?!

I’m gonna let my people tell you all about it in Tripawds News. They’ll get around to it as soon as they recover from our New Year’s pawty. Stay tuned.

Romping and Rolling into the New Year

Guess what Tripawd Spokesdog Wyatt Ray has been up to? Yep! He’s road tripping all over the southwest this winter. Catch up with his Nevada, California and Arizona travels.

Maybe it’s all the sugar I ate on pie day, but the days are flying by so fast now! After Thanksgiving my dad put his foot on the gas and got us rolling along to our next adventure.

Tripawd, Colorado River
“Surf’s up dudes!”

First we went to the Colorado River. It was the first time I ran on the beach without a leash in FOREVER! Wheee! Too bad it was so cold ’cause Mom and Dad say they would have stayed longer. They’re not tough like me, they like warm weather. Me? I’d rather be mushing with my sled dog pals. Like that’ll ever happen!

Tripawd, Southern California, German Sheperd
“Sunshine, it’s nice to see you again!”

So away we went to Southern California, where it got a little sunnier and warmer. If you’re wondering what a sunny, warm Christmas is like, well here ya go folks. Don’t get jealous though. There’s no rest for the weary here. Mom and Dad work all day, and they make me do my workouts too! See?

“This is how we roll on our walks”

Do you like my paw-stand? Mom says it’s good for me to know how to balance like this. She thinks it’ll help me stay strong. I’m not sure how. Whatever though. At least I get treats.

As you know, Santa rolled around last month at my grand pawrents house. And he even left gifts for ME! After all the stunts I pulled last year, Mom says Santa decided I was a good boy and paid me a little visit. I got some treats and a fun game you’ll read more about later.

Tripawd Christmas
“Paper is more fun than presents, don’t you think?”

The day wore me out. I don’t know how I survived all the wrapping paper explosions. But I was SO good, I didn’t even grab cookies off the table!

“Christmas wears me out.”

And now we’re back to normal around here. Well, as normal as a pack who lives in a doghouse on wheels can get. Next up, we’re headed back to Arizona. My people tell me that in spring we’ll eventually get to Jerry’s Acres in Colorado, where we’ll spend the WHOLE SUMMER chasing skwirels! Maybe the snow will wait for me. I miss it.

Till next time, keep warm (it’s cold out there!). See ya on down the road peoples!

Wyatt’s Christmas Party

Wyatt Ray opens his presents Christmas morning after resting from his obstacle course workout.

I wasn’t up for doin’ much of nothin’ after my Christmas morning workout.

After all that high-stepping and balance work on our obstacle course walk, I was too pooped to party!

Wyatt is not interested.
Not interested.

But after I rested, and pooped…I gots to thinkin’…Maybe they got me some more yummy treats! Like that big ol’ bone, I’m still workin’ on! So I dug in.

Whatchya get me?

Yeah, I can open presents just as good as Jerry ever did.

Christmas Present for Wyatt

What was it? It didn’t smell great, but I ripped it open quick anyway. After all there was another present waiting!

Wyatt Christmas Present

The first one was a stylin’ new red rope leash from Found My Animal. I woulda preferred treats, but it’s pretty cool.

Wyatt Christmas Present
Hmmm…not treats.

The second was a folding canvas bowl that attaches to the leash. That’s cool, ‘cuz all Tripawds should stay hydrated on walks! But still, no more treats. Whatever. Opening presents is the fun part anyway. Unless they’re treats.

Bath time for Wyatt
Tricked again!

If only I had known the first time the people used the leash would be to take me for a bath! Sigh…

Found My Animal makes sturdy leashes, collars and other cool stuff for dogs, inspired by nautical rigging. And the company encourages animal rescue. I’m cool with that. And I look cool in my leash.

I think my ma got this stuff at the #BetterWithPets Summit she attended. Guess I’m cool with her re-gifting it to me, even if it wasn’t treats.

Wyatt Ray’s Christmas Workout

Tripawds spokesdog Wyatt demonstrates fun fitness exercises for three legged dogs you can do at home.

Hey Tripawds Fans!

Anypawdy else out there feel like they ate a few too many cookies? Well here’s the fun workout I did Christmas morning to work off the big bone I got

I thought we were just going for our usual walk. But my people found a fitness course where we are staying, and started having me use all the obstacles for some fun training before opening up the rest of my presents.

I’ve been doing conditioning exercises like this for a while on my FitPAWS gear, so I make it look easy. But you can do it too! Just be sure to do some warm up exercises first, and work your way up to the more difficult stuff.

Hopping from one step to another builds confidence and leg strength. Going up and down the steps first was a good cardio workout too!

Balancing on my FitBone is one thing. These little posts were a challenge! But I showed them I could do it.

This type of balancing is great for developing proprioception and building core strength. Look ma, one paw!

Next they had me walk the balance beam. Sort of…I hopped up and along some benches first.

But then I scooted down these really narrow beams with both my front paws. That counts right?

All this stuff helps me keep fit and strong—because a healthy tripawd, is a happy tripawd!

Dear Santa Paws

Tripawds Spokesdawg Wyatt Ray wishes everyone a hoppy, healthy four and three-legged Christmas and new year!

Hello Santa Paws.

I  think I’ve been a very good Dawg this year, don’t you? I mean after last year’s Christmastime Bellyache, I haven’t landed myself in the pawspital again. After all, we Shepherds are darn smart, we learn quick. No more “foreign objects” for me, I’ll stick with real food from now on.

It’s been a good year. I went from coast to coast, met neat people and behaved myself soooo good, like better than ever. After all, I’ll be seven years old in a few days, I think it’s time I act like a grown up. And I’ll show you how grown up I am now . . . this year, all I want for Christmas is for all the Tripawds out there to be hoppy and healthy for a long, long time. To get out of shelters, to live the good life and be with people who love them furever and ever. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask, do you?

Thanks Santa Paws,
I knew you could do it!

Hoppy Howlidays everypawdy!
