Geek Dog Makes Contact at the VLA

Tripawd Wyatt stands guard at the Very Large Array in New Mexico.

There we were, driving across the desert on our way to BlogPaws. When all of a sudden, something very large appeared.

Dad pulled over the RV. He said something to mom like:

First rule in government spending: why build one, when you can have two at twice the price?
— S.R. Hadden, from the movie “Contact”

I got out. I HAD to see what these things were. There was a sign; what do you mean we can’t go in?

I looked ahead, I looked around. This was big. Very big. A job had to be done and done right. I sat down and said to Mom and Dad:

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.
– Hal, 2001 a Space Odyssey

A job had to be done, and done right. I was ready for the challenge. But was the VLA ready for me?

  1. I’m sure “Hal” was thinking of you when he made that statement!! You are a very patriotic boy Wyatt! Always on duty to serve and protect!

No Wyatt, the VLA could not possibly be ready for you! Your Mom and Dad have been with you for years now and they’re still not ready for you!

Cute pics……great pair of ears…..great commentary!!

    Thanks for the grins!
