With Thanks to Foster Families Everywhere, Especially Mine

Three legged German Shepherd Wyatt Ray Dawg says Thank You to German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California and his Oakland CA foster family.

Well, I guess you could say that me, my Mom and Dad are very grateful, and thankful to have this special girldog in our lives, Miss Codie Rae.

Last year at this time, I was still a star in the sky, yet to be born into guard dog slavery on the end of a rope. And as for my Mom and Dad, they were pretty sad, since Jerry had just gone on to the Bridge.

Now look at us, we are all one big hoppy family! Well, most of the time. Ok, when I’m a good dawg, which, if you ask my Dad, isn’t as much as he wants but I’m trying sooooo hard! He knows that, I think.

Anyhow, if it wasn’t for German Shepherd Rescue of Northern CaliforniaMiss Codie Rae, Smokey and her pawrents Martha and Ralph, who knows where I’d be at this very moment?

Thank you Codie Rae, Smokey, Martha and Ralph! This is the Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.

Because my pawrents adopted me, now Travis Ray has a chance at a good home too. At least he’s with my foster family right now, I bet he’s pretty happy about that.

My Mom just posted about him in a new German Shepherd Discussion Forums group. Let’s all keep our paws crossed that next Thanksgiving, Travis Ray is writing a blog post just like this one!

  1. It’s fantastic you have made your parents so hoppy and cut yourself a pretty good deal too, young Wyatt RD. But don’t get carried away with this so-called “good behaviour”. There is always room – when Jim and Rene are not looking – for stealing food off of counters or doing a thorough investigation of the trash (try opening the fridge door someday . . . yummm).

But, take my advice, it is best to leave stickshifts and upholstery alone. Same goes for the keys to your pawrent’s computers. They don’t taste much better than tramadol.

  2. Aaaawwww! Wyatt, you are the sweetest! We still miss you something fierce around here. But you and Rene and Jim were meant to be a pack, we knew it from the start, and so we had to let you go. And you are right, that made room in our home and our hearts for Travis Ray, who is as sweet as pumpkin pie with whipped cream! Man, I sure did try to get hold of some of that tonight! I….just….couldn’t…..reach 🙁

We are thankful to have been a way station on your journey to a new life and new pack and ever so thankful that we get to follow your adventures and watch you grow into the GREAT dog we all know you will be….someday….. soon! 🙂

  3. You have a lot to be thankful for Wyatt! You have wonderful pawrents who have helped a lot of tripawd families!! Maybe you could cut them a little slack and be a good boy more often! You can still be full of life and behave!!
