Two Tripawds, Two Countries, One Big Pawty

Two Tripawds meet in the Kootenays and British Columbia Canada will never be the same!

What happens when two Tripawds who’ve never met get together for a weekend of fun? All kinds of racket!

Oh Canada, You Will Never Be the Same

Tukaluk Campground Faquier, BC
I arrived on the shores of Super Stu’s lakefront kingdom.

Things are picking up around here. The doghouse on wheels is moving faster every day. So fast that now we are in another country people! Yeah you read that right. Me, Wyatt Ray Dawg am truly an international Tripawds ambassador.

One day we came back to some mountains that looked so much like Colorado, the place I love most. I even heard mom say “But it’s prettier than Colorado here!” When it started raining and cooling off as soon as we got there, I knew she was right. And where is “there” you ask?

Cool dawg, cool mountains!

Well it’s in a village in British Columbia, where Super Stu the Giant Tripawd keeps watch on his lakefront kingdom!

“Oh Wyatt, you will love him” mom said to me.  I didn’t believe her at first. When he got to my dawghouse on wheels, I had to make sure he was all that. So I watched him hop around and he pretty much give my space. Then I could see that mom wasn’t lying. Super Stu IS pretty cool!

Super Stewie

Super Stu is the ultimate in calm and confidence, things I totally respect in a dawg. When I meet a dawg whose got all three, I know we’re gonna be friends. Plus, any dawg bigger than me is instantly OK by me!

Sure, it got a little loud. Especially when Stu’s people invited us on a ride in the mountains. I got really excited at the open-air adventure!

“Hey Petra wanna sing with me?”

That ride wore me out, it was so much fun! I took a nap in the truck while mom and dad hung out with Stu’s pack and the kitties. “You don’t need to meet the cats Wyatt, stay here” mom said. She didn’t think I could be have myself. Me!

I heard a concert going on from my bed in the back seat. Stu’s got a band, did you know that? They’re called Allensong and you need to get their music. I promise you will love it.

Petra, Stu and Paul make beautiful music together. Oh and the kitties too. They were so nice to me, I can’t wait to see them again. There aren’t too many dawgs I can hang with, I had a good time. Thank you for being so nice to me Stu and the pack! See you when we come back from Alaska!

Mountain Mushing Madness

Tripawd Wyatt Ray Dawg meets up with the Odaroloc Sled Dogs and goes mushing in Telluride, Colorado.

Hey Tripawders it’s been a long time, did you miss me? Sorry I haven’t written, things have been really busy here, see?

Three-legged pawty animal.

Today I’m chillaxin’ and thinking about my friends, the Odaroloc Sled Dawgs. Last week I got to hook up with them again, in the mountains. And man, was it cool. I mean like cold enough for the Huskies to do their thing: MUSH!

Hey guys remember me?

And GUESS WHO got to go along for a run? You guessed it, the only three-legged German Shepherd sled dog in the world: ME!

German Shepherd musher dog
I’m on the team!

When I met up with them the team was practicing for their big move to Alaska in the winter, so there was no snow, but that’s OK, dirt is just fine by us.

That’s TC, and she’s lead Musher Queen. She had to look hard to find an extra big harness just for me. See, working Huskies are small, and I’m not. But that’s kewl. It fit and she found my color.

Is purple my color?

I had to chill with the boys for a while, just to make sure we all knew what each other’s butts smelled like. After all, what else do you do when you’re running with team, right?  I also had to practice my howling, just to make sure I fit in.

I can howl with the best of ’em!

Later that day, like really later, I passed the sled dawg test and got my chance to mush! We ran at night, because well, see, dogs see better than yous humans in the dark. Plus, it was super cold which is perfect for running.

Here we GOOOOOOO!

And we were off! We ran as far as any special needs sled dawg team could! There was me, and all of the retired Odaroloc team members having the time of our lives.

Don’t try this at home kids!

It was only a short fun run and not very far but dang! To be part of a TEAM, to run like the wind and pull and howl and  . . . wow! TC says I found my calling. She better watch out. I might be hitching a ride to Alaska this winter.

Next time I got another story to tell you about the Spirit of Bucky. But I’ll save that one for later, it’s good.  Over and out. And MUSH ON!

Sled Dawg

Three legged German Shepherd Wyatt runs with the Odaroloc Sled Dog Team on a training run in Colorado.

I’m a team player, oh yes I am

Just like Spirit Jerry, I got to hang with Spirit Calpurnia‘s Pack,
The Odaroloc Sled Dog Team, before I left Colorado
and they went up to Alaska for winter.

And for one awesome training run, I got to be a Sled Dawg!

Who says Tripawds can’t do it all? Man that was fun!
Best day ever!

P.S. Don’t get all freaked out; I was on Spirit Calpurnia’s Special Dawg team
of uh, mature, and more, uh challenged doggies so we
went very slow and only ran for a few minutes.

and nopawdy yelled “MUSH!” either!

What a blast!

Timewarp?

Three legged German Shepherd dog Wyatt Ray loves swimming in the rivers and playing in the snow.

Just last month I was swimming in a river on a hot day in Utah, having a ball.

Mom said “Be careful!” because the water was very fast.
So Dad kept me on my leash.

See, three legged dogs can swim! I told you.

Just when I thought summer was here . . .
We got on the road and went to Colorado.

And it was winter again!

Wheeeeeee! I love love love snow. I wish every day was winter.

My Wedding Day ROCKED

Three legged German Shepherds Wyatt and Hannah marry in Southern California dog party reception.

It was the pawfect day under sunny Southern California skies. On February 18, Miss Hannah Carr and I got together for real and declared our love in front of friends and family.

We just knew we’d get along like two peas in a pod, and we did! Well, as far as German Shepherds go anyhow. You know we’re not the lovey-dovey types but let me tell you this was true love!

The day was so much fun! Here are the highlights of the pawty, we wish you could have been there.
