Romping and Rolling into the New Year

Guess what Tripawd Spokesdog Wyatt Ray has been up to? Yep! He’s road tripping all over the southwest this winter. Catch up with his Nevada, California and Arizona travels.

Maybe it’s all the sugar I ate on pie day, but the days are flying by so fast now! After Thanksgiving my dad put his foot on the gas and got us rolling along to our next adventure.

Tripawd, Colorado River
“Surf’s up dudes!”

First we went to the Colorado River. It was the first time I ran on the beach without a leash in FOREVER! Wheee! Too bad it was so cold ’cause Mom and Dad say they would have stayed longer. They’re not tough like me, they like warm weather. Me? I’d rather be mushing with my sled dog pals. Like that’ll ever happen!

Tripawd, Southern California, German Sheperd
“Sunshine, it’s nice to see you again!”

So away we went to Southern California, where it got a little sunnier and warmer. If you’re wondering what a sunny, warm Christmas is like, well here ya go folks. Don’t get jealous though. There’s no rest for the weary here. Mom and Dad work all day, and they make me do my workouts too! See?

“This is how we roll on our walks”

Do you like my paw-stand? Mom says it’s good for me to know how to balance like this. She thinks it’ll help me stay strong. I’m not sure how. Whatever though. At least I get treats.

As you know, Santa rolled around last month at my grand pawrents house. And he even left gifts for ME! After all the stunts I pulled last year, Mom says Santa decided I was a good boy and paid me a little visit. I got some treats and a fun game you’ll read more about later.

Tripawd Christmas
“Paper is more fun than presents, don’t you think?”

The day wore me out. I don’t know how I survived all the wrapping paper explosions. But I was SO good, I didn’t even grab cookies off the table!

“Christmas wears me out.”

And now we’re back to normal around here. Well, as normal as a pack who lives in a doghouse on wheels can get. Next up, we’re headed back to Arizona. My people tell me that in spring we’ll eventually get to Jerry’s Acres in Colorado, where we’ll spend the WHOLE SUMMER chasing skwirels! Maybe the snow will wait for me. I miss it.

Till next time, keep warm (it’s cold out there!). See ya on down the road peoples!

Giving Thanks on Pie Day

Can a German Shepherd eat two pies and survive? Find out with the latest adventures of Tripawd Wyatt Ray Dawg.

Hoppy Thanksgiving everypawdy! I hope you had as much fun as I did. My people cooked all day yesterday. Then their friends came over yesterday and I got very excited when I smelled all the yummy food. Like, stuff I NEVER see in our doghouse on wheels, starting with Turkey! Dude, I wanted to eat everything but I guess nobody heard my stomach growling.

Tripawd, German Shepherd, Thanksgiving, pie
Dude, did you not hear my stomach growling yesterday?

Mom and Dad and their friends put me inside the doghouse on wheels while THEY went to eat all the good stuff. Can you believe that? I mean, why didn’t they invite ME?

When they were outside, I smelled something good. Mom must have thought that little baby gate was going to keep me away from it I guess. But when I put my giant schnoz to work and saw they forgot to take the pies over to the dining tent, I figured I’d help them out a little. After all, no humans need to eat that much, right?

German Shepherd Thankgiving pie
Mom makes really good pies!

So I moved the pies from their hiding place and guess what I did? Yep. I. Ate. The. Pies. Yes, that’s “Pie” with a “S”. Oh my dawg dude, the pecan and pumpkin pies Mom made were to DIE FOR.

And when my people came inside to get the rest of the food and saw that I ate the pies, they almost killed me!

German Shepherd Thankgiving pie
I even cleaned up all the crumbs!

Luckily, I didn’t die. I’m feeling a little woozy today but after everything I’ve eaten (like a road flare and shorts, for starters), my stomach is coated with iron. Nothing can take me down! Not even two Thanksgiving pies.

Even after I helped them with dinner, I didn’t get ANY of that turkey. Aren’t they so mean?

The Tripawd Dog of Many Jobs

Wyatt the three legged German Shepherd looks for jobs around Lake City Colorado.

Every dog likes me needs something to do. And when my people are away at work all day long, I have to find something to do. Monitoring squirrels just isn’t doing it for me anymore. So the other day, I saw that Mom left a package out. It looked suspicious so I had to inspect it, just like those dogs in the airport and stuff.

“Is there anything hazardous, perishable, liquid, fragile or lithium batteries inside?”

Whew! Good thing there was nothing dangerous inside.

It wasn’t too long after that when Mom and Dad said they wanted to go see some stars on their day off. That part I didn’t mind, but what made me crazy was they wanted to sleep outside. On. The. Ground!

“You want me to sleep WHERE?”

The stars were very pretty but it was so cold. They said something about we were at eleven thousand feet altitude. No wonder I felt a little weird while we camped. I was glad to go home and sleep on my couch again.

My most recent job was as a tour guide. We went to town and they have a river there.

“Come on people, use your nose to find your way!”

Well, apparently people get lost all the time along that river. There are signs everywhere telling them where to go. Don’t they know all they have to do is pay attention?

That’s OK though, I was hoppy to show humans the way to town.

Now I’m waiting to hear back from the fire department. I applied for a job ’cause I saw their fire station dog does absolutely nothing all day long. Lazy dawg!

I’ll let you know if I get to put on the uniform. Stay tuned!

Another Awesome Ampuversary

Wyatt the three-legged German Shepherd celebrates his seventh ampuversary on three legs.

Yo! I’m pawtying here in the Colorado mountains where a hot dawg like me can chill out and have fun on this very big occasion. It’s my SEVENTH ampuversary! There’s so much to do, like swimming and hiking.

Every German Shepherd Trpawd needs a job.

Oh and being in the Fourth of July parade too!

Dog Bless America!

My peeps work at the ranch all summer. When they’re gone, I patrol for skwirels and keep an eye on all these loose, unregulated Shelties that run around. That’s not the life for me, I’d rather watch from the comfort of my doghouse on wheels.

Three-legged, German Shepherd, amputee
Hoppy July Fourth Everypawdy!

On hot days (which is like 80 here!) they take me swimming in the ponds. Maybe today we’ll go, after all, it’s a special day!

German Shepherd, Tripawd, three-legged
Yes, three-legged dogs can swim!

And there you have it. Just like my pal Codie Rae, I’m a July Ampuversary Tripawd. I lost my leg when I was eight months old and said “So what?!”

Today, I’m seven and life is good. I’m a little mellower but rock solid and I love my job as Tripawds Spokesdawg. Who knew when I was chained up in those mean people’s yard that I would go on to worldwide fame? Yep, that’s meeeee. The one n only Wyatt Ray Dawg.

I’ve Been Everywhere, Man (Again!)

Tripawds Spokesdog Wyatt is hoppy to leave hot Texas weather and return to the cool mountains of his favorite Colorado ranch.

Hot weather is no place for a snow dawg like me. I spent the last couple of months in a hot, hot place  . . . they call it “Texas.” It was way too hot for me. Apparently it was hot for Mom and Dad too, they liked to sip many cold drinks while we were there.

German Shepherd, Wyatt, Tripawd
Come on Dad, gimme!

My people took the dog house to cool places and sure, I had some good times. Like when I patrolled the Rio Grande, again!

And then I got to shred the half-pipe.

On the way north, we went to this pretty church. I said a prayer for Spirit Jerry and all my Tripawd pals.

Can you hear me Jerry?

And now it’s time to head back to the Ranch, where I get to patrol alllll day long and not break a sweat (Ok, yeah I know dogs don’t sweat, but you humans know what I mean). I can’t wait! I hope you’ll join me.

Adios, Texas.
